One-of-a-kind 14ct gold pendant, set with a 2nd Century Roman stone sculpture.

About

This delightful miniature sculpture depicts a comedy theatre mask.  The Romans carved similar masks into rings, pendants and personal items perhaps as symbolic of joy and hope for a good outcome.  It is a beautiful, light-hearted piece of art.

The gold setting adorns the headdress with rays of gold.

Centrepiece

This artefact was acquired at auction from a large collection of Roman archaeological finds and has been independently authenticated.
